In reading the latest Ohio Valley BSA Owners Club newsletter, Volume 27 Number 6, it was noted that their Rally this past August was their 30th, with the first having taken place in 1982.
Hats off to the OVBSAOC founders Clark Francy and Paul Atkinson, who probably never thought when they started their club 29 years ago that it would still be chugging along after all this time. To quote from the article about the club, "It's been a long ride, and a bit bumpy at times, but we're still here....promoting and enjoying these bikes", I believe that quote can be attributed to current OVBSAOC President and all around good guy Clark Francy.
The POG owes a debt of gratitude to these fine folks for helping to show us the way, in more ways than one....
I would like to mention that the first VMD Featured Marque display featured BSA, and was put on by the OVBSAOC. A few years later when Penton was named Featured Marque the ground work that was done by the BSA gang sure made our work a lot easier, plus they even lent us some of their display cases and stands.
The OVBSAOC schedule for 2012 lists their Spring CLassic event taking place June 2nd & 3rd., and their 31st. Annual Rally taking place August 10,11 and 12, at Cables Campground, Toronto, Ohio. More info at 724-945-6018, that would be Bud Kubena.
To all our OVBSAOC friends, may your lights illuminate the darkness and your oil stay in the cases :D
