While recently visiting with Jake Fischer he told of the passing of one of the great names in enduro riding "back in the day", Bob Fusan. Jake went on to say how it was Bob Fusan who encouraged him to give off road motorcycling a try. It was obvious that besides being a mentor to Jake, Bob was also one of his closest friends whom he respected dearly.
If I have the facts right, while street riding his Vincent Jake had a chance encounter with Bob Fusan, Bob encouraged Jake to get a bike suitable for the trails and join with him and his off road riding buddies on the trails they rode just north of Pittsburgh.
I don't know of Bob's accomplishments well enough to list them here, but he was a top competitor and quite well known, I believe he mostly rode Huskies. I do know that Bob Fusan was always held in very high esteem by anyone that I ever met that knew anything about enduro riding. When informed of Bob's passing, long time local racer Tony John stated that "Bob was always a force to be reckoned with in enduro and hare scramble competition".
Below is a link to Bob's obituary.

Bob Fusan was one of the fast guys I remember when I was just starting. He was local to the Pittsburg Pa area. I know he won a lot of eastern enduros with a couple of National Sandy Lane Enduro wins too I believe. He rode Husky and Yamaha. Very sorry to hear of his passing.
