Hi All,

Rik Smits is the organizer of the swapmeet in Lebanon; just talked to him today.  Below is a link to the website where you can reserve spaces and sign up.  Hope this helps and looks interesting!

Thanks guys, let's help Rik make this a good show so he can expand next year and make this an annual event for the Indianapolis area.  I've always wanted to attend meets like York, but travel is always an issue.  This meet brings things REALLY close to home [8D]

Any new info on this meet?  I have heard some folks from this area mention that they might make the trip. I think the Indy Supercross is the night before, great timing for a weekend visit.

Paul, nothing new at this point.  I talked to Rik a couple of weeks ago, and he had some vendor reservations in at the time.  He expected more activity as it got closer.  I'll call him soon and make an update here.

The idea of the supercross/swapmeet weekend sounds good!  Jarrin and I are going to the supercross, then helping Rik setup late Saturday night, if he needs help.  I'll make this offer to anyone in the POG:  Come for the supercross, stay the night at the Milakovic "Bed and Breakfast" (no charge, but no breakfast, either), then get an early start at the swapmeet.  I live only 10 minutes from the fairgrounds.  Just let me know here, email, or phone, so I can warn my wife!

Just got off the phone with Rik.  Only 15 spots left out of an original 45.  Rik told me Al Buehner is one of the reserved spots, bringing his inventory of Penton parts.  Better get your reservation in soon or you might be selling parts out of the back of your truck!

Yes, the rumors are correct.
I will be at Rick's Indiana swap meet. So if there is anything special that you want to order and have me deliver at the meet - give me a call before Thursday March 15th.

It is looking like this event is going to be a Penton get-together with Paul Danik, Kip Kern and Bob Wardlow attending.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Al,

I had planned on attending but my plans have now been derailed. I hope the event goes well and maybe next year I will be able to attend.

Good luck to all.

Rik has sold out the inside spaces, and is looking at renting a tent for ouside.  Weather.com says 76 degrees and 30% chance of rain for Sunday.  Keep your fingers crossed!

Rik has done an excellent job of promoting this event.  This morning he was on a local radio station, WIRE 91.1 in Lebanon, there is a link to the swap meet flyer on Racerxonline.com and at tonight's supercross there will be a blurb running on the scoreboard.  He's already talking about next year and using two buildings with a bike show, too.  Sounds great, can't wait! Thanks to all of you who attended today, it was great seeing some old friends again and making lots of new friends. No  vintage bike swapmeet  is complete without  Pentons there, I'm sure glad you were all there and help make it a succes. We can't wait for next year.
Special thanks to Mick Milakovic  for all your help.

Agreed, totally fun time, with great ideas from Rik and others looking to make it even bigger and better next time.  I agree with Big Dave; I need to get out more!

Dave Withrow and Bob Wardlow discussing something REALLY important:

Dave Collison and daughter Kelly made it from Ann Arbor and won a Clarke gas tank:

Kip Kern came from Marion and brought the COOLEST pair of Jawa/CZ boots ever!

Mike Winters and his boys came from Illinois:

Al Buehner had his usual stuff and always had a crowd:

Your's truly and Jarrin had a great time:

And I had to sneak this off-topic picture in of my brother.  He is the original owner of this 1980 PE175 that I restored for him, and also the original owner of a 1973 JP that Jarrin is going to ride.  He got me into motorcycles, and this was his first vintage event ever, and after going home he rode the PE, his first ride on a motorcycle since 1982!  After the ride he said he shouldn't have done it because it felt really good!

I think Bob Bean and Sean Guthrie were there, but I missed them, sorry guys; and Gary Ellis was there with Big Dave but somehow I missed his picture.  That's OK though, because the only way I can identify Gary is when he passes me!  Love you guys, and see you soon!
