Title: April meeting date change
Post by: Paul Danik on January 20, 2012, 01:23:30 PM
Greetings,

Initially the April POG meeting that is going to be held at the National Packard Museum in Warren, Ohio was scheduled for Saturday April 7th.  It was brought to our attention that April 7th. is the day before Easter and folks from out of town would be hampered from attending because of this fact.

The meeting date has been pushed back one week to Saturday April 14. We sure hope that this doesn't cause anyone any problems but we felt we needed to make the change.

The Museum opens at noon and our meeting will commence at 1 pm.  We also want to mention that we will not be serving any food at this meeting.

The Museum just unveiled its annual motorcycle exhibit, this year the theme is Motorcycles Around the World.  We attended the Exhibit Reception and Preview last week and were very impressed with their exhibit. All around good guy and avid motorcyclist Bruce Williams is the Curator of the exhibit, and a number of fellow POG members have machines in the exhibit

Below is the link to the National Packard Museum website, it is a very impressive facility.

Hope to see you there. As always, you do not need to be a POG member to attend.

Thanks,
Paul

I understand the issue with Easter, etc.
But for future reference when changing dates: I booked my annual leave (vacation) late last year with this in mind.
My wife has also been training since late last year for the Boston Marathon which is on Monday the 16th. I committed to being there to support her, and have also got tickets to see the Red Sox at Fenway on the Sunday, 15th.
I appreciate all that our executive do to make POG the great organization that it is. Also the challenge of keeping everyone happy.
I had really been looking forward to being in Warren, OH on the 7th.
With the change I am not exactly sure how to make that happen or if it is possible.
Again, I appreciate the difficulty in keeping all of the stars aligned etc. but did want to note that the change is not without some consequences and perhaps some dissapointment.

Mike,

Anytime these situations arise we agonize over what action to take, if any, knowing that issues such as yours may occur.  I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that the date change has caused, and really appreciate the fact that you have looked at this issue from all sides.

Hopefully you will still be able to attend as it would be great to see you.

Take care,
Paul
