Title: Larry Perkins.
Post by: Dale Fisher on April 05, 2012, 04:18:46 PM
Larry P. has been experiencing new health issues and could probably use some prayers and well wishes from the group.  I've only picked up Facebook chatter but it looks like he is having issues with high blood pressure and a currently undiagnosed heart issue.

"80% blockage and the Dr. put in a stint so in theory all will be well soon. Hospitals suck! Glad to know I am on the way to well".

Larry, hoping you are home and feeling better soon!

My brother had a stint 3 years ago. Had 90% blockage. Good as new now. Larry, you should do well with this.

Larry,
Don't even know if you still read this board or not, but, I wanted to tell you that my thoughts and prayers are with you. I had two stints put in way back in 1995 and then another in 2002. I have not had an issue since the 2002 ordeal, and other than just being OLD, I feel great. The Doctors will take very good care of you and I'm sure they have or will put you on some sort of blood thinner. I take Plavix, a baby aspirin as well as Zocor and Fosinopril. The Fosinopril is for blood pressure and the Zocor is for cholesterol. Even though I don't have a high BP or high cholesterol, the Dr says that these 4 meds together will reduce the risk of a stroke or heart attack. Larry, if you read this, let us know how you are doing!!!!

Larry

Keep the faith brother.

I have been through the procedure 12 times and have a total of 16 stints.

You will get through this fine.

Gods Blessings

Here's an update from Larry's Facebook page yesterday.  Apparently he has returned to the Hospital with additional health issues.

Still in the hospital. They found something on my lungs but can not do a biopsy till I have been off the Plavix(blood thinner) for several days. They won't let me go home because they worry being off the Plavix will cause a clot in my recent stint and a heart attack could happen. So they want to keep me here till Saturday to monitor and then do the biopsy. What a bummer Catch 22. Thanks for all prayers to recovery and a clean biopsy.

Please join me in wishing him a speedy and quick recovery!

Now I know what people mean when they say   "age gracefully".
seems like more and more of a challenge after 40 years running up Dirt bikes every weekend.
You'll be back in the saddle again soon Larry !
