Title: Speed Pipe
Post by: tlanders on May 06, 2002, 06:37:25 PM
I bought the speed pipe from Gunady. He was not sure whether it was a high point product or not. It starts out with a longer sweep from the exhaust manifold and is shorter overall by a lot with the muffler than the pipe I have on my 250 Hare Scrambler now. It also expands faster and I think a little larger also. Does anyone know whether this type of configuration is like the Carl Crank pipe? What part of the power band will it effect? Thanks for any responses.

Thanks Mike. The fax number is 417-256-2801. Is the Carl Cranke pipe the same as the High Point speed pipe? Will either kill the bottom end power in favor of the top end? Teddy

I installed the "speed pipe" on my Hare Scrambler last Thursday night and took it to Casey for the vintage national yesterday. I found out what it does - IT MAKES THE BIKE INCREDIBLY FASTER!!!!! I guess that's why it's called a speed pipe. I pulled two hole shots with it and earned a first place in my class (+60 Novice). It helped me beat 9 other bikes. It will pull a wheelie in third gear now whereas it wouldn't even do that in second gear before. I highly recommend this pipe for motocrossers!!!! Teddy
