Title: PainTs for 1969 steel tanker -help

What was the oem paint for the air bell/box cover - front motor mount brackets - and the chain guard ?  all the same? close to? same as frame? matte finished ? thanks LG

sent you an email with photos of my 69,

air bell is polished alloy, air filter cover, front motor mounts and chain guard appear to be the same paint as the frame,

  If you get a chance check out the beautiful original Steel Tanker that Dale posted pics of at the end of this thread, it shows most all of the items that you asked about and looks to be just as Mike described.

  Speaking of paint colors, someone recently said that many of the colors used on the early Pentons were selected from colors that KTM already had on hand for their bicycle production. We will have to ask Doug about that as he has a beautiful KTM bicycle.
