Hey fellow Poggers restoring 77 MC-5 With Adjustable footpeg mounts.
Anybody know which one upper or lower position,has better geometry,or better rider comfort or which position has better brake pedal plasemnent for rider any input would be great thx...

That is a nearly impossible question to answer because that has everything to who is riding the bike and how they are built. Not to mention how they ride a bike.. I would say the thing to do is to get on the bike and ride, Try both postions and see how it feels.. You ming want to try diffent handle bars and positions too.. Having the right bars can do a lot for rider comfort. which translates into better and safer riding..Generally speaking, low profile handle bars and not a good thing unless you are pretty short, because it causes you to sit too far forward putting too much pressure on the front wheel. I am riding with the highest profile bars I can, and I ride all over that bike, in the corners, I am just about sitting on the tank and over the rough stuff and coming out of a corner I am sitting way back to get the rear wheel to hook up.. Going fast is in the details and you can only figure them out by riding and figurine out what you need to do to make it better.. good luck

I prefer the higher position but I am short. I did run them in the lower position for the first half of '10 because I hurt both my knees and couldnt bend then far enough to get on the higher position. I would guess it has more to do with your height than anything.

Long legs vs short legs pretty well sums it up. One consideration though I learned the hard way--with pegs on the lower lugs, the kickstarter comes down and whops the curved section of the upper lug, tending to drive the kicker off the shaft.
First time out on the trails with pegs in lower position, and the kicker popped off the shaft after about every 2nd kick when re-starting. A real pain. Finally filed a square edge notch in the upper lug to act as a stopper at end of the kicker stroke.
Good thought but bad design with the hi-lo peg set up IMHO, may explain why the later models went back to the tried and true. Twice I collapsed a hi-lo footpeg on hard landings (but I'm a girthy guy with no business making hard landings)...another pain.
