Title: Ceriani fork stem nut
Post by: Fred Deagostino on January 05, 2013, 10:09:53 AM
Gents, I need a sanity check here. The stem nut on my Ceriani trees sure behaves like a left hand thread, and it's also coming off pretty hard. Did the stem and it's nut have an interference thread ?  It sure feels like it.  This is on V416. Your thoughts?  Thanks Fred

Not a lefty but a very fine thread, of course you loosened the pinch nut bolt. I have removed a few that had been cross threaded.

Thanks gooddirt,
Yeah the pinch bolt's out, but as I break the bike down I'm realizing that when my cousin wrecked it decades ago and bent up the forks etc. that the work done to repair it was essentially hack work. It may very well be cross threaded. It just doesn't feel right and fine threads to my recollection get ugly when they don't feel right. I'll try again tomorrow. Thanks for the response!  Fred
