I discovered a small hair line crack in the clutch cover on my 76 250. There has been no leakage at this point. Barely noticeable from the inside of the cover. From the outside really all that can be seen a slight dent.
My goal is to simply make sure it does not start leaking.
I saw an old post here suggesting some product other than JB weld to seal it up - but for the life of me, I can't find that post again. So...what options are out there? Or do I just put some JB on it inside and out and call it good? I wonder if some other sort of epoxy might work.

If you could first slightly "V" out the crack with a die grinder, then repair the area with JB Weld, you can then coat the interior with Glyptal and permanently seal it. This has been used sucessfully to repair fairly seriously erroded interior engine cases. Mike

That sounds like my post. I crashed my bike soon after it was new and repaired it with JB weld, it needed to be some assistance about 10 years ago. All I can say is that it has worked great for me.

Thom - thanks. That's what I was hoping to hear! While I am sure that Glyptal is a great product, fact is my project's budget has been severely limited by the budget and finance committee (the dear wifey)!

I feel your pain, I have a square barrel Maico on the back burner because of current cash flow problems. The biggest problem is finding transmission parts.
