I am looking for a used, 1972-3 100-125cc penton steel wheel with a hub in it. The size is the 18" rear rim. It should be 99% round and not perfer chrome. Let me know. I am completing the final part in a bike rebuild project. thanks.

I think in 72-73' the 175 jackpiner rim also in the same before they went to the conical hub (?). let me know.

The rear 18" wheels had 2 different hub sizes back then. If you can get a hub with the larger cush drive, it would be better, and also harder to find. Both my 73 Piners came with the larger cush drives.

Raymond, I guess you are right about the larger cush drives. The rim/wheel i am looking for is for the 100s and 125s.

Are you looking for a complete almost new unit? A hub assembly or the rim?
Yes, i am looking for a chrome steel wheel with a hub in it. i do not need the brake assem. since i have that. Is it a better solution to contact walridge motors in canada and buy a new steel redalli rim and relace up the old painted spokes?

Personally, I'd get the rim and spoke set from Waldridge and do it right. Of course it'll make the rear look like new, so you might have to do the same for the front to get them to match.
They sell the early style non ridged, won't match the front and are not as strong.
Yes, I believe the chrome, steel radaelli rim from Walridge is dimension/model; MW2 1.85 x 18" w/o a ridge. The steel radaelli rims, correct him if i am wrong, with the ridge are the MW1s and i have one (18")as a replacement rim on my 70' sachs motorcycle, not penton motorcycle.
Yes, thanks to know about Walridge. I since spoke to them and am curious if they can sell the spoke nipples separate from a spoke purchase. I sent a sample nipple to them today. My spokes are good and it maybe ok to repaint them to match the original painted spokes used in the CMF period bikes with steel rims prior to 74'. Any comments on this message?

I have gotten spokes and nipples from Buchanans, as well as just nipples. I did get a set of spokes from GenuineNOS, and he might be able to supply just nipples as well.
Jake Fischer has original "A" nipples NOS in boxes of 500
Thanks everyone for your comments. I now have several choices on how to procede.

Found you one.
Al Beuhner has the "A" nipples seperately and good price. I've gotten several sets from him.

Keith,
Thanks for the info on nipple sources. It's funny, I never thought of asking Al. I usually buy what ever part I can from him. I'll check with him.

I finally decided to buy on ebay an 18' x 1.60 OEM MW1 shouldered, steel radaelli rim for 83 bucks 17 shipping. then I obtained NOS A spoke nipples, repainted the spokes and asked I friend for 35 bucks to show me how to spoke a wheel. I very nice job for $155.00 in the end. the stock, painted spokes on the early cmf bikes are often not rusted.
