Title: Wanted/Needed '83-'89 Con-Rod p/n 543.30.015.044
Post by: Mike Rosso on March 21, 2013, 03:43:40 PM
Need a new connecting rod repair kit for a 1984 KTM 250 MX, KTM part number 543.30.015.044.

This was used on all of the KTM 250 models from 1983 - 1989.

The 1985-1989 250 models went to a longer stroke by moving this same conrod (543.30.015.044) out on the crank flywheel so I would even consider buying a new crank if one even exists?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Hey Mike, It looks like Andre Horvath has them in stock:

Andre is a very good vendor to deal with.  As a rule, I always check to see if Al has the part first, then go to Andre's site if he doesn't.  Good luck! Kent

Kent thanks for the info/link. I'll order one from Andre and a few other things that I see he has (seat cover, etc).

Thanks again...........but if anyone knows of a new con rod here in the U.S. or Canada I still would like to get one as soon as possible, Jerry Birky over at Penton Racing is boring my cylinder right now and hopefully I can get the engine together here soon.

Thanks,

Mike

I had an '84 in the day, and some of the cranks didn't have a proper radius between the mag side shaft and the crank flywheel, mine broke off after two weeks!, good thing to check if you buy a crank.
