Title: Bing 27mm
Post by: Steve Minor on April 02, 2013, 04:27:16 PM
Today I opened up an old Bing 27mm I had on the shelf with the thoughts of using it on a 72 Six Day project. I've not seen one like it before. It has a white bushing (loose enough to spin) on the outside of the air boot end. It has a hairpin looking "needle clip" that holds the needle in the proper slot and a chrome "clip plate" on top of that, where a white plastic retainer goes on a more modern Bing. I found an old Bing diagram with the parts numbered 14 and 14a. I assume I would use one or the other but not both. Any info would be appreciated.

I have a 28mm type 84 with a plastic piece like that, it came off a Bultaco Lobito.

Steve, I have a 27 with a e-clip holding the needle and the chrome plate. No white bushing tho, Hank
