I may be Picking up a vg conditioned Wassels next week and was wondering about the front fender. The one I'm getting has a high mounted fender, but I've also have seen ones with low mou8nted fenders. Whats the difference, if any? Model designation? I also noticed that the motor is slightly different from other wassels I've seen. The head is not a radial like most I 've seen, but rather vertical. What motor is this? Thanks.

The Wassel Antelope as offered in Europe came with either a high or low fender option. The Mudlark as imported here I believe only came in a high fender configuration. The early Mudlark's came with the aluminum cylinder and radial head. Later, these were pulled for other needs and a surplus of iron barrel engines were installed as replacements.

A review of the Mulark registry shows that currently my earliest listed iron barrel is W483ST. Note the registry is still a work in progress and there are only 19 listed :(

Thanks. That clears things up a bit. When I finally get it, I'll be adding that to the registry. (if it isn't already on it.) Pictures will follow if I can figure out how to post them.
