Title: VMD Road closed....detour...
Post by: Paul Danik on July 17, 2013, 09:45:45 AM
I have been informed that Ohio route 314 near Mid-Ohio will be closed..  the directions below are what the AMA has posted, 314 is still used but from a different direction...???
In the paperwork from the AMA they suggest using 546 as a possible alternate...I do not know the perfect answer to this but wanted to let folks know about the possible detour. If anyone has more or better info please feel free to post it.

Riding Directions
From Columbus:

    Head north on Interstate 71.
Take St. Rt. 95 East; turn right off ramp (2 miles)
Turn left on St. Rt. 314 North (15 miles)
Turn right on Steam Corners Rd.
Mid-Ohio is 2 miles on left.

From Cleveland:

    Head south on Interstate 71.
Take U.S. 30 West to Fourth St./Crestline exit; turn left at end of exit ramp.
Proceed to stop light; veer right onto St. Rt. 314 (7 miles).
Turn left on Steam Corners Rd.
Mid-Ohio is 2 miles on right.

Just talked to Ohio DOT, the lady said the directions above are correct, EXCEPT...when coming from Cleveland when you exit 30 you should make a RIGHT turn, she said you can see 314 from the end of the exit road..

Hope this helps  :)  If not sorry [B)]

Thanks for the heads up Paul, I hadn't read the entire Mid Ohio packet yet.

Just checked my Garmin and it showed the detour listed above when showing my directions from Kansas City.

Seems like they also re-numbered the vendor spots this year. Looks like our spots are now N154, N155, just up the hill from Pentonville.

Heading out later this afternoon.

If you are coming from Columbus continue to 97 from 71, don't  take 95, or it will take you right to the closed road, not to an alternative. Mike
