Thought I'd share a couple pics of this '75 250 Penton. This bike was part of my collection for years, sold it when the Wife was going back to school about 12 yrs ago and just got it back. It's totally original, 900 miles of street, dirt roads. Never been down, never muddy. Spent the day doing a thorough detail and waking it up. Fun to wake up a bike that you woke up close to 20 yrs ago! -Kurt

SSSSSSSSSAAAAAAAAAWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETT!!!!!! Great looking bike. As a true survivor, it needs to be photographed extensively and posted somewhere for us to look at when rebuilding and admire the rst of the time!
Thanks a lot,

This just goes to prove the possibility of my early red mx tank HareScrambler, which had green number plates with an mx pipe and metal head light might be original even though the guide says it was not supposed to come that way. Mike

Thanks guys! The bike is just as it came from the dealer back in '75. Bought new by a guy from PA and used during hunting season to scout deer down dirt roads. Never been down. The pipe side fiberglass plate is stamped 250MC on the corner up by the tank. I always though the green plated bikes were intended for MX use but this bike has all the correct lighting that show no signs of being added/cobbled on afterward. -All factory wiring and cable ties.
Back in the 90's, I also had a twin to this bike but w/yellow plates and chrome tipped enduro pipe. They were compleletly different animals. The bike pictured has MUCH more power, almost violent compared to the enduro piped version with tractor like low end torque. Always wondered if the green plated MX versions had more agressive porting.
Thanks again for your interest, it's so nice to get a bike back that had been gone for so long.

The only thing that I wonder about is the different looking headlight mounting ears on your bike. They don't look anything like the standard 35mm Ceriani units, which may point to a dealer installed lighting kit, possibly transferred from another bike, since most dealer installed units utilized mostly Preston Petty headlight/numberplates from what I have seen. Those mounts look like they would not require sliding down the forks in the triple clamps like the Ceriani's would to install them.
My early 250 Red tank HS had a very aggressive power band as well. It was hard to keep the front wheel down in any gear when it came on the pipe, even when I had it geared as high as possible to enter a flat track race at out local fair. I can't wait until I get the chance to put it back together, as the engine has been rebuilt for a few years now, patiently waiting on me, thanks to Gary Ellis. Mike

My early 74 enduro has a green oval on pipe cover and also says mc250. Mybe the covers were installed at dealer and green and yellow mixed? This bike is sweet. It does not appear to have the pickle enduro pipe? if that was still in use in 75.
Yeah, yeah, nice bike sure but, what about the plaque with the red bra? :D:D

-The plaque is Jingle Jugs, sings and dances when you walk by. A mancave gift from a buddy!
One word. Awesome.;)

I love this bike.I picked one up like this from the original owner in the L.A. area in the late 80's.Except it had Marzocchis on the back and P.P. headlight.I'm almost positive it had a pickle pipe too (it's been a while).

Some one asked about the wiring and as I understand. all the bikes came with a lighting coil, My MC5 came set up with a lighting coil. I can be sure it came from the factory because I have own the bike since it was new. :-)
