Interesting format. All sorts of little behind the scenes stories of the riders. I was surprised when yesterdays series (part 3?) started with Jeff Emig going through voice exercises and the story of his struggles with stuttering. Who'a thunk it?
I'm not a super big SX fan (I watch the races on YouTube but I'm not paying extra for Fox1 Sports Channel). However, I find the amount of mental focus, commitment, training and dedication to reach this level of the sport interesting. I respect these guys just based on that alone.

Slow but Good
I too do not get the extra channel, but my son-in-law Dave does, and he is a really big fan of SX as well as outdoor National MX. Dave had a few of his buddies over for the race Sat. nite and was kind enough to invite his old father-in-law :). Those guys know every single rider and what team they are on, whose gear they use, what team they rode for last year, who the team managers are, and on and on...
I remember Judy and I being at Daytona about 6 years ago for the SX and I had my KTM jacket on. I had some fun with the folks sitting near us by predicting how a KTM would probably sweep the evening, knowing full well that wouldn't be the case, they kept reminding me that the event was not an enduro, we really had a lot of fun together that evening.
As I watched the SX Sat. nite I got to thinking, when it is time for that generation of riders and fans to become "vintage", as we Penton folks are now, that vintage movement might be incredible given the exposure those riders get on national TV. Just imagine Ryan Dungey being at the KTM Owners Group tent at a vintage event with the KTM he won a national championship on, and possibly having James Stewart and RC at the event in their respective locations..... just thinking out loud..
