Title: Wanted: Shocks for Six Days
Post by: jasonlamar on March 05, 2014, 11:11:59 PM
Looking for usable or rebuildable shocks for a '73 Six days.  My bike has a later swing arm on it. I am not sure if that give me more options shock-wise or if 13.5" is still best option.  Wanting to ride the bike in ahrma competition.  Suggestions welcome.

Jason

I have a pair of Progressive 13.5" that I used in the Vintage Six Days twice.  You can have them for $100.00 plus shipping cost. Nothing wrong with them at all. [email protected] if interested

I started to get a lot of grief last year from tech at the AHRMA races here in the NW. they say the progressive shocks are not legal. they put in plastic spacers on my Berkie and six days.

Thanks Kip!

Interesting Mickey.  So long as they let you race I suppose. I need to get a season or two on the bike before I invest in more expensive shocks.  Thats just the way it goes when you have six bikes that need shocks.  :)

Most tracks here are natural grass tracks with no man made jumps so it doesn't matter.

I think they make you put spacers in the 13.5 shocks because stock was 12.9, and the extra travel makes them illegal.  I have 14.25 Curnutts on my Harescrambler and at one race I think I had to put in 4 spacers!

As long as wheel travel doesn't exceed 4in.,they'll pass tech.
