Title: Tyran on ebay
Post by: Gordon Brennan on March 10, 2014, 07:08:43 AM
Nice looking bike. Looks like the forks are missing the springs.
Now that I look at it closer, the left fork tube is up through the clamp about 2" and the right is up about half an inch. Not sure what that is about, considering it's "perfect show condition". Just looks funny.

This may be the same Tyran that sold at the Las Vegas auction.

I did the restoration on this bike as well as the others in this collection. This is the Tyran from Bonhams Las Vegas however it did not sell. There are no fluids in the engine or forks. It was a static display in a living room. The forks must have slid up in the clamps from the trip to and from Florida/Nevada.I must not have properly tightened them on final assembly. The owner has no tools or mechanical skill. I am in New York and the bike in Miami Beach or I would take the 5 minutes to correct the issue. The bike is the class winner from the Riding into History Motorcycle Concours d'Elegance. It is exceptional. Cheers Larry

Anyone know what the purpose of that "dial" like disc under the swingarm nuts on this bike are?

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi Rick. Yes the tank has the indents. I recreated the tank stickers as well as the disclaimer on the side panel with Hugh Macdonald. He may have some or be able to print more. He is on this site. Cheers Larry

Hi Rick. I used the lighter of the two blues offered by Hammerite.
