Title: Paint color for a 1972 Penton 125cc Six Day
Post by: davelar on March 13, 2014, 05:11:09 PM
I am restoring a 1972 Penton 125cc Six Day bike.  Can anyone help me find a paint match for the green on the gas tank? Thanks.

Dave, using the search function, look up 'useful info re" Limco paint codes".  This should bring up two threads. The earliest from 1/8/13 is mine and pertains to PPG products/codes. The second thread posted by tofriedel with the same query as yours is from 1/12/14.
By reading through both you'll find another set of codes supplied by Kip Kern which pertains to Dupont products/codes.
Read through a few times, maybe print them out, and discuss with your painter to get his thoughts. This should at least get you off to a good start.
A search on V416 two or three pages in will give a pic of my end product. I believe there are pics in the archives of Kip's restored steel tankers also which would be of further use to you.
'Hope this is of help...  Fred
