Title: Wanted: Chrome trim for '70 Six Day 125 Seat
Post by: Eric Lewin on March 29, 2014, 06:12:00 PM
Hi everyone, I just started to work on my seat pan, found a NOS seat cover and am having the foam made by a local shop and the last thing I need is the decorative chrome trim for both sides. I called Al B. and he said his won't work because they're too short. Can two aluminum pieces be welded together and polished without being noticeable? Were the originals steel with chrome? Any tips, advice or the sale of two originals would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Eric

HI Eric, give Terry Everette a try. He's listed as a supplier on this web site under PentonMotorcycles.com Sometimes Terry will have certain hard to find items in stock when Al B. is is out.

No luck with Terry or John Fischer. Even if I welded two together, I don't think I could make the upward turn at the back of the seat. A good photo of what I need is Ron Carbaugh's SD 125 in the "Featured Bikes" pg 2. Has anyone made one of these?
