Title: Still going strong
Post by: Michael Thompson on April 20, 2014, 09:37:33 AM
Hey everyone!! Happy Easter Here in southern ohio the GP or Grand Prix circuit has become very popular. Very fun racing they normally have a vintage and decades class. Vintage is your twin shock up through bikes in the 80's and the decades is 10 years and older from current production year. Theres normally a big turnout in the decades class because not too many guys can afford new bikes. Yesterday i entered the decades class on my 1982 ktm 495, Engine built by Gary Ellis, out of 14 bikes i pulled off a 3rd place. The 495 ran phenominal! Had alot of people wondering what it was and it made me happy i could spread some knowledge about penton/ktm history.

Michael, what tracks or series are you talking about?  We race the Reads Racing GPs here in Indiana; they're 1 hour-long, $25 to enter and don't need an AMA card or district 15 card, either.

Mick the tracks are fasttraxx motoplex and action sports. Thye both run GP's starting this past weekend. They offer vintage/decades classes. May 17th action sports hosts the AMA vintage series. If you need anymore info id be glad to help.
