There seems to be quite a bit of Penton enthusiasm in the Indy area, however, I haven't seen notice here on POG of a Penton story screening, but I happened upon a GATHR event noted at SMG College Park:
https://www.studiomoviegrill.com/Movies.aspx
Studio Movie Grill is a chain with a new location on Indy's Northwest side - they serve food and adult beverages at your big comfy chair, and with brand new projectors, screens, and audio, it's probably one of the best viewing locations available in the midwest. Been there a bunch - never been disappointed.
It appears, although I haven't called to confirm, that a viewing is scheduled for June 23 @ 7:30pm
I've never ridden on a Penton, only behind one - the Jackpiner rotting in a barn in SW Wisconsin that was my dad's ride - but would love to meet up with some of you folks that do ride Pentons, and discuss whether a plated Penton could ride up and over a parked supercar...Go Pacers!
I requested that showing through GATHR. I bought a couple tickets and put some links on facebook. Got busy with buying a new house and Rockers Reunion in Indy this weekend. Here is the link to order tickets for the Indy showing. Thanks

That's terrific, Sean - thanks for setting this up. It appears the ticket quota has been met, with 49 seats still available. SMG generally sets their viewing capacity not at the amount of seats actually bolted to the floor, but by how many seats their staff can service effectively - so it's possible that even though you're not able to purchase a ticket through GATHR, if you show up at the theater and purchase a ticket to another movie, you can crash the Penton movie instead...or watch Toy Story 8 - your choice....That last game stung quite a bit, but a good overall showing for the Pacers this year regardless.
I reserved an extra ticket in case someone needs it. Glad to hear that we met the quota. Looking forward to seeing this!:D
Jason, I would like to go to the movie but don,t know how to get the tickets. Not to smart on a computer but do know a bit about Pentons. I live near Vincennes,Ind and would be happy to talk Penton with you. Be nice get some Penton owners and interested dirt riders together before or after the show for some good old Penton gab. Can I still get tickets? Dave Sanders
also my phone number is 618-928-7411 Dave
Hi, Dave - the link that Sean dropped in the second post will take you right where you need to be to purchase your tickets. If it gives you fits, just post back, and I'll grab as many as you need when I place my order. JR
I'm going, date night with my wife!
Mick
You are welcome to my extra ticket Dave. I was nervous we wouldn't get a screening here, so I reserved an extra. Looks like it wasn't an issue after all. I will send you a phone msg/call.
Jason
Yes, just click the link and you can buy a ticket.

I'd also like to get a couple Penton's to put on display if possible. If anyone is interested in displaying a bike let me know. Thanks

Jason, Ok Sean is calling this weekend so I'll know more on whats going on. Dave
Dave, I miss calling you this weekend. Had a home inspection, little league game, then road my old Triumph to Cincinnati for a bike show. Priorities my good man priorities!
Looks like we are up over 100 presale for the viewing so far.
I saved your number in my phone now and can call anytime. Let me know what day/days are good for you and a time. We'll get coordinated and see what kind of display we can put together for the showing.
I'm going to contact the theatre this weekend to see if we can get the bikes in the lobby or if they'll have to be outside on the sidewalk.

OK, have been out of it with too much going on but when and where is this viewing? I might try to make it unless something else goes crazy[?]
Kip, look at the second post in this thread and it will take you to the website that tells you everything: place, time, ticket prices and how to get them.
Mick
Awesome, thanks Mick. Thisng are pretty busy here right now but may try to squeek in the viewing
Have tickets!:D
Hey Dave, with my plate as full as it is, I scrapped the idea of getting a few bikes together for a display. I was going to bring mine and a few others volunteered too. I decided instead to ride my Triumph up to he showing and just enjoy the movie. I figured we'll see enough Penton's on display in the film. [:p]
If you see my gold '71 Triumph come up and say hi.
Hope to see you there!

Howdy folks,
Some of the folks who purchased multiple tickets for our screening of PENTON: The John Penton Story next Thursday evening in Charlotte, North Carolina have experience problems with the blurred QR codes on some of their tickets, which must be printed from a downloaded .pdf file.
The problem is not an issue with the actual printer being used, but with the graphic file itself.
This problem does not seem to occur on the first ticket in a multiple sequence, but on the subsequent tickets.
In some cases, after reporting the problem to Gathr Films Customer Support, a replacement .pdf file containing corrected tickets was sent to the buyer, but the problem remained.
Therefore I recommend you print your tickets as soon as you receive your e-mail from Gathr Films with the .pdf file containing your tickets attached. Then if there is a problem with yours Gathr Films Customer Support will have time to rectify the problem in plenty of time before the event.
All the best,
Al Roof
Thanks for the heads up Al. I just printed mine this morning and put them in a sealed envelope.
BTW as of 9:00 Friday 44 tickets remain for Indy.

ok Jason or Sean, this is Dave. My wife & I are going to be able to attend the movie. Can you please call me about the two tickets, 618-928-7411 asap. Thanks, Dave
Sean, I'll be on my V-Star and park next to your Triumph. What time will you get there?
I haven't bought my tickets yet, other things got in the way, but still going. Do you all recommend I get them online (if still time) or should I just go and get them at the door?
Mick
Just talked with Jason, I'm ok to go. My wife and I will be there about 6:30 and plan on finding one of them there big comfy chairs. A hot dog and a cold beer sounds good. Old Dave
See you guys there tonight, safe travels:)
Hi, Mick - No tickets will be available for sale at the theater - so, if you can get some online, it allows the filmmaker to get paid - if not, then purchase tickets to another film and just crash the party. I can't get my wife or daughter to go, so I'll leave two envelopes at the ticket counter - one market "Rowland - 242 - Dave" (for Dave), and another marked "Rowland - Mick" with a pair of tickets as a failsafe for you. They'll be there prior to 6:30, as that's when Dave plans to arrive. Cheers! JR
Thanks Jason, I've got my tickets. sorry you have to waste a couple........
Mick
Mick, We are leaving my house as soon as the sitter gets there. She should show up at 6 so if all goes well I plan to arrive around 6:45-7. Look forward to seeing everyone there.
P.S. Kip I packed the shocks in my backpack last night so I would not forget them.

Yeah, too bad there won't be four more eyes on the screen, but not considering it a waste, as I wasn't in the POG loop when the Kickstart happened. Tickets will be left as described...
I've got 2 extra tickets too. If I don't find anyone to take them this afternoon, I'll bring them with and hold up a sign out front. lol

Jason about ready to head your way after this big o storm lets up. If we have time and a table I throwed in some Penton Junk to set out. Later
Just got home from the viewing, on the edge of my seat not wanting to miss a word. Also on the edge of my emotions, loving and living the moment, just as JP has done his entire life. In a movie full of great scenes, the ending summed up his approach to life: chain saw in the the hands of an 88-year-old-body, a KTM flying by at speed, the look in his eyes was more like 18-years-old! I loved it every second.
Mick
Ditto! Loved the history and the wife really enjoyed the show too. Kind of a modern version of "On Any Sunday" for this generation:) What a wonderful production about a wonderful giving family!
I'll echo the statements before me. Great movie! It did take you on an emotional ride. I bet that look on JP's face in the closing scene, is the same look he gets every time he twist the throttle or puts that chainsaw to wood!
Few living legends in this day and age but he is one, and a whole new generation will discover him from this film.
Good to see so many fellow POG's last night. I wanted to hang out and talk to more people, but I was trying to out run the storm on my bike all night.
