Title: Need Handlebars for 71 Steeltanker
Post by: Keith Meatyard on July 14, 2014, 09:09:15 PM
The only thing I need to complete my Steeltanker project is a set of original handlebars.  If anybody has a set they would be willing to sell, drop me an email:

Thanks,

Meaty,
Roberto (Parmabike)sells the correct reproduction set without the knurling and the proper cross bar diameter.  Review of his Ebay store does not show them listed at the moment.  You might drop him an email to check availability.  Note - Purchasing them directly via email contact nets you a discount.

I talked to Roberto.  The bars he has are like you describe, that are for the later CMF bikes.  He doesn't have the ones with the skinny cross bar and full knurling.  Hopefully someone here will have an extra set of the originals, even if I have to re-chrome them.

The ones I purchased from Roberto had no knurls.  I did look at my brothers '71 and it has them full width.  I'll look at the bars that same with the basket bike.  They are a little rusty and may have been cut down in width.
