Title: Help! 74 35mm Ceriani Fork stop valve
Post by: 454MRW on August 14, 2014, 06:29:44 PM
In rebuilding a set of 1974 Penton Ceriani forks, I found one side of the internals to be significantly rusty, especially the stop valve that retains the wave washer that restricts the fluid to provide the proper damping under compression and releases under extension. I have purchased a set of the upgraded wave washers, but the rusted and pitted stop valve is deteriorated to the point of not being able to retain the wave washer, even after several attempts to crimp it in place. The other side if fine. Does anyone have a spare for sale, or have any suggestions? Thanks, Mike [email protected] I checked Al's site and he is sold out.

Yes. He doesn't have any, but thanks anyway. Mike
It looks like a job for master machinist, Bob Wardlow! Surely some others suffer from the same issue. What do you think Bob? Its steel.

I could make you one if you sent me the old one for a pattern.

Yep, I'll look for some also Michael. I know they're common enough to find, no one needs to go through the trouble of making one.
(I'll weld your silencer and get it shipped next week)

Michael, The spare parts I was thinking of / looked at, are from the 1976 35mm x 225mm off-set front axle Ceriani forks. They are not the same, and do not use the part that you're looking for.

But I have the correct part you need, taken from a decent set of spare forks.
I am going to mail it to you to have, and we'll just have to keep an eye out for a replacement part in the next year or so.
