Title: 70's KTM
Post by: Norman Anderson on September 09, 2014, 03:44:25 PM
I picked up a carcass of an old KTM... tank and plastic is good, pipe is good, lots of engine bits and stuff... heck could possibly put it all back together!
trying to find out what year and model it might be
Number on the frame is 54605 90503
Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

The frame # 54605 tells that it is a 175/250/400 chassis built on the 5th month of 1976 making it a 76 Cross Country model. The 90503 is the serial number. The engine serial number located just above the right side ignition cover will tell the engine size 52=175 or 54=250, or 55=400 followed by the engine serial #. Mike

That is the casting # for a 250 head. so it definitely is a 76 250 Cross Country model. More information on the Penton model years is located on the home page under production years, then click on the production year guide for different model year features. Mike
