Hello All,
Here's a short story for you along with a couple questions,
I just picked up a early 73 jackpiner. It's kind of a one owner bike. The bill of sale has three boxes marked new, used and demo. This one is marked a demo. The owner took delivery on 9/12/73 and paid 700 dollars. How would they use them and sell as demo bikes back then? The frame number shows it as being built feb of 73.
He was a member of NETRA and told me about his experience's at the ISDT in Mass. It was nice to talk to someone who was there, as I was there too. He liked to keep documentation and I have some cool pamphlets that he gave me. He gave me a tag that tells you how to start your 250 penton, a hi-point oil pamphlet, a penton pamphlet telling about the new pentons, a hi-point oil 4 ball wear test and a couple others. Pretty cool stuff I must say.
Now the questions,
1 The bike has been in a garage since 78. The tank and carb had gas in them. Not the best smelling stuff!! How can I clean inside the tank?
2 It has a paper air filter, should it be oiled or should it be dry? It looks like it was never oiled.
Thanks for listening and for any help you can provide

As far as the tank and carb, soak with pinesol, original formula, and any paper filter does not like to be wet, or oiled, they swell and cut off airflow. Mike
