Dan,

   Glad you asked that question..:)

John Penton is planning on being in attendance.

Usually we sort of keep under wraps who will be providing our "entertainment" for the evening....but this year we just gotta give you a heads up...

We are extremely blessed to have Billy Morris as our special guest, just take a moment to watch this short youtube clip of Billy in action.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RNmKw3-YwU

The first time I met Billy was in Daytona during Bike Week, maybe about 8 years ago. Judy and I walked into the AMA Hall Of Fame Museum breakfast fundraiser and spotted John sitting at a big round table, with this younger guy with long hair sitting next to him. The scene really took me "back in the day" to when John and Carl Cranke would be seen together.

It took awhile for me to get most of the pieces of this interesting puzzle figured out, that is IF I even have it all figured out today, will probably learn more on Thursday night... :) The first thing I learned was that Billy was John's wheel-man to and from Daytona. Then I learned that Billy had raced his 200 KTM at the GNCC during bike week and had done extremely well. I must back up a minute as I try to recall that chance encounter with Billy, the first thing I did learn was that Billy is one of the nicest gentlemen you will ever meet, bar none.

If you think Billy's talents on the youtube clip are incredible, just wait till you meet him and hear HIS Penton story on Thursday evening, as well as see him perform for us...  As Ed Sullivan would say, "we have a really, really big show planned".

And just when you think you know "everything" about a guy...

Hope to see you there.

PS.

I must follow up with a mention of one of our favorite POG Family Night "special guests" from days gone bye, Pat Leimbach. Pat, younger sister of John Penton, had us all just about rolling in the aisle on several occasions. Personally I was fortunate to have stayed at the Leimbach Farm on several occasions as Dane's guest and got to meet Pat "on the farm".

Later, before leaving for the Six-Days, John had the Penton Team riders to a dinner at his home and afterward presented us with gifts. One of the gifts was a copy of his sister Pat's first book, A Thread of Blue Denim. You can still find her books on eBay and I highly recommend you start with that first book, there are a few sneak peaks of the behind the scenes Penton motorcycle business, but it is mostly made up of short stories about life " on the farm', but more accurately she tells about life in general. Take a few minutes to watch this interview with the late Pat Leimbach, such a Very Special Lady..

Rick,

All of the POG meetings are open to anyone who wishes to attend, membership is not required.

The December meeting is our annual Family Night, where everyone is encouraged to bring family members along. We usually have a slightly abrieviated business meeting followed by a program of sorts.

Many of the folks bring a desert or snack tray of some sort and the POG has pizza delivered, except for the year that someone placed the order and the pizza place thought it was a pickup order and we went without..:D But rest assured, bringing food is not a requirement... We also provide soft drinks.

We usually take a break between the business meeting and the start of the evenings entertainment to fill our plates with chow...and socialize.

The evening is really all about fellowship, which in reality is much of what the POG is also all about.

If any of you are on the fence about attending, please do attend, as it is always a very enjoyable evening and we want to get to know everyone a little better.

The address of the KTM building is 1119 Milan Ave, Amherst, OH 44001. If you get to Amherst just continue west on Milan Avenue and the KTM campus will be on your right side about a mile out of town. The building closest to the road is where we meet and the entry is in the front of the building, in about the center. "We always leave the light on"...:) The festivities usually begin about 7.

This link will take you to some photos from a past Family Night.

Ended up with a nice case of pink eye this morning. Don't have a clue where that came from. Will stay home and keep it to myself. Will try again in January. I was looking forwart to coming.
