Title: Wanted Steel Tanker pipe
Post by: doncw on December 21, 2014, 04:02:52 PM
Looking for an original 125 Steel Tanker high pipe. My buddies bike is a 1971 but I believe all years would fit.
Call Hugh at 780-975-9882
Thanks Don G

There are new reproduction pipes available on ebay from Parmabike. They are pricey at $599 but very high quality. Just picked one up for restoration of my 1970 tanker.

Remember Roberto Petinato (ParmaBike) offers a 10% discount for POG members if you order directly from him, not through eBay. Mike

Kevin at circle F builds steel tanker pipes with a stinger or shroud depending on the year desired.  I don't think he has the chrome leg guards though for the early pipes.  Shroud pipes you need to purchase the baffle/end piece and springs separate from a soruce such as Al.  His pipe price was slightly over $200 plus the additional items would put it somewhere around $350-ish before paint.  I can take some pictures of an unused one I have (surface rust now) to explain a couple of issues with them.  It will be a few days before I can do so though [V]

I remember "back in the day" while picking up a new CMF 125 at the loading dock at Penton Imports, Jerry Wilheilm (sp), who ran that area, pointing up towards a railing that went around the upper level of that area and was entirely covered with Steel Tanker pipes still in their paper wrapping hanging from their hooked ends. Jerry stated, "if they would just get rid of that old stuff I might have room enough for the new stuff that keeps coming in"...

I would guess that most of those pipes were sold by the pound..:(

Jerry was an absolutely wonderful man...always enjoyed being around him.
