Title: OT - Post Vintage KTM Frames
Post by: KJDonovan on January 25, 2015, 06:00:08 PM
Little off topic, but I figured this was the best place to ask.  Got a question on post vintage KTM frames.  I have the bones of a bike, Frame, TTrees, WP Forks, Swingarm, Mono-Shock, Pipe and a few other bits and pieces, but no motor that I know are from a 1988, frame serial number starts with 87*06.  What I don't know is, was KTM still using a single frame style and size for multiple models in 88?  Trying to figure out what motors will work on this frame, 250, 350, 500?  Ideas?

Thanks,

Kevin

Kevin,
I only have books up to 84, but IM pretty sure in 88 all three engines had different mountings.  Even in 84 they all three were different.

In checking my parts list
For Dec-1986  1 frame for 125Mx and Enduro
for Nov - 1986  1 frame for 240-250 MX and Enduro
for Nov - 1986  1 frame for 350 MX and Enduro and 500 MX

for Jan - 1988 parts list for the 240-250-350-500
    1 frame for 250 MX
    1 frame for 250 Enduro
    1 frame for 350/ 500
    1 frame for 250/ 500 MX
    1 frame for 250/ 350 Enduro
I don't have a 1988 parts list for the 125.

Thanks Mike and Al.  I guess I have to take a look and see if there is a part number on the frame anywhere to determine what size it is.
