I am rebuilding the bottom end of my 1972 six days motor ( 1251 - 6a ) this bike is new to me so I don't know its history. I am planning on using the 3 piece bearings on the crank. The question I have is about all the other bearings. The other bearings seem fine to me, but I dont really know what to look for,I normally go by feel.I have never work on a penton before, Any ideas on what to check or look for or really should replace now would be helpful.
The crank bearings had a small amount of up and down play in them.
