Title: DC Plactics yellow side panels
Post by: Mike Lenz on January 31, 2015, 02:39:56 PM
In the future I have 1 73 250 racer project I want to do.  DC Plastics has "yellow" side panels.  Has anyone bought these and if so are the 250 yellow/gold color, or are they just yellow?
Thanks!

I've not had to use any of their Penton pieces but have used several of their Yamaha YZ and IT items. The IT blue color was a little dark and the YZ yellow was a little light but both were close enough for rider/racers. The fit  is usually not that great and I've yet to find any graphics or paint that will stick to their plastic. I reckon we are lucky to have them around however as something is better than nothing.

Cannot tell you about the colour Mike but as Derek said they don't fit that well. I found if you clean them thoroughly and then use a plastic primer your top coat will stick. I have had some trouble with the primer taking but I think this was because there was some dirty film still on the plastic. I also found that the '76 to '78 seat base I bought is actually for a GP frame and not an MC5 frame. The item was badly warped and I think it will not look good on a GP frame. I haven't had that much joy from DC in the past.
