Title: sachs flywheel rubbing armature
Post by: James Niebrzydowski on March 01, 2015, 02:20:01 PM
I have a penton 125 with a sachs motor which has a bosch ingnition with points. The problem is the flywheel is rubbing on the armature. I realize there is a tool for setting the armatures but I dont have one and was wondering if there is another method.

90mm ID circle, PVC pipe will work, place over armatures, undo screws and push them outwards to the pipe.  Hold and tighten screws.  Pipe should slide off easily.  That sets the end pole gap as per the book.  The actual tool is a plate that is placed in a vice then you have a centering bolt to screw the armature mounting plate down and center than there is a cast aluminum 90mm ID circle placed over as discussed above. Good luck
