Is the seat foam for a 76 175 XC the same as the one for a 76 MC5? I know the pan brackets are different.... It appears to be the same size, thought I would ask before proceedings...

They should interchange, even if not quite the same.

No, they are not the same but as Mike said, they can be made to work.
