Title: Fiberglass Tank
Post by: ccmnova on May 06, 2015, 07:25:32 PM
74 125 6-days with a fiberglass tank. the tank is not smooth and the joint down the center is poor - the tank needs redone. The tank is green (does anyone have the color specifics for Penton Green ?) I was going to take it to a body shop to have it redone ?

That tank looks really nice to me, I would not refinish it, they are only original once. In addition, they were not painted, the color is gel coat that is sprayed into the mold. If you want to make it look nicer, wet sand with 3000 sandpaper and then polish it instead of painting.

I would have thought that there was a paint code number for the green color. I guess i could get it color matched. You can't see the ripples in the tank in the pic.

Have you tried to source another tank?
It may be the better/cheaper route and a bit less cringe instilling.

I like it like it is; originality counts.
