Post by: ccmnova on July 03, 2015, 09:05:10 PM
Got a new bing carb for my 74 125 6 days.  The engine side is smaller on the new carb - see pics.  the old carb on the right is abt 1.5 inch dia, the new one is abt 1-3/8 inch dia. Can anyone give me some help as to what to do !!!

The new carb on the left is from Bing in Germany.  the inside dimension is the same on both carbs (28mm)  You will see that the old carb is just much thicker - actually 39mm versus 35mm on the new carb.  Bing is going to make me a sleeve to make up the difference and change the groove position.

So its going on a  - D -  125 sachs barrel with the rubber carb mount ? the stock carb is a 84 type  and the new bing  might hit the center cases.

Yes it's a D Sachs.  Since i can't get a replacement rubber flange i have to get an Al sleeve for the carb. I am told the rubber intake flange is impossible to find.

Bing made me an adapter and it now brings the new carb dimensions and groove location to that of the old carb.
