Title: My new MX-6 175
Post by: 454MRW on December 22, 2015, 03:13:22 PM
I finally procured one of my most sought after prizes, a late 78- early 79 KTM MX-6 175, which had replacement GS-6 side panels, (or decals), installed at some point incorrectly. This didn't sell on eBay and as good luck found me this CHRISTmas, I had just (within seconds) closed the deal on this jewel in the rough, & I found out from my Fiance' which was on Facebook on her phone as we headed to my home, that my Niece and Nephew in Law were heading up the next morning from San Antonio TX. to my brothers home near me in Illinois for Christmas. It took a lot of scrambling to get the bike paid for in time for my relatives to pick it up in Northern TX, saving me a lot of driving time and expense, and with help from Chi Jer, for the purchase of my Rolling chassis & Mark Wunderlin, Paul Stannard, Joe Bilazzo, Sam Niskanen, and one of very my best friends and mentor, Ron Carbaugh, all of whom pre-paid for me to transport their Jewels home safely for them to or from York in January, I was able to get it paid for in time. May God bless each and everyone of you this Christmas and keep you safe and happy during this most Joyus season! I would rather have good friends than all the Gold there has ever been in Fort Knox. Merry Christmas! Mike

I'm completely tapped out for the moment, but I would consider an MX version as well. Right now I need to save up for a set of Pirelli MT16's so I can test ride my new bike. Mike

Nice, Mike! Let me know what you think of that motor once you have taken it for a spin.

The bike is even better than I expected as far as condition, but the local weather, and lack of kill switch, has kept me from even starting it, and the badly weather cracked tires will stop me from riding it because they won't hold air. It may be just a bit until I can scrape up the money for a set of MT16 Pirellis. I'll keep you posted. Mike

Thank you Ron. Since Tom Brosius does not have a current website and only pops in from time to time, does anyone have contact info for him? I tried to email him, but it came back as un-deliverable. Tom made some MX-6 250 decals from my originals, and listed them on his site and I was wondering if he had any left and If I could get the 175 MX-6 ones made? How is Tom doing? Otherwise, does anyone know of a good place to get some more re-produced from my originals? Thanks, Mike

Just bought some decals from this site a couple weeks ago.  Pretty good quality.
