Title: Off topic but interesting
Post by: marsattacks on January 01, 2016, 08:35:45 PM
With apologies for no Penton content maybe those of us who don't ride mtb will nevertheless appreciate the talent of Danny Macascill.

This is awesome on many levels:

And his newest I think is breathtaking also but not quite as stunning. As the Ridge.  Note that these are multiple takes not a single run but still awe inspiring when you consider the balance and pedal and brake control involved and the narrow margin for error.

Hope you enjoy of you haven't seen them yet.

Nice!   I didn't know the inspired one.  I first saw him in a film as part of the Banff Mt Film Festival maybe four years ago.  Scotland is a real biking Mecca.  More off topic but here's a section that landed me I the Royal Edinburgh Infirmary for hand surgery in 2014.  This isn't my video just the same trail.  Btw, in UK they swap front and rear brakes opposite the US.  Front is on the right like a motorcycle.  But in a "panic" stop situation your brain knows you're on a bicycle but 4 hours of riding reverso does not overcome 45 years of riding bikes with brakes our way! Perhaps for someone who rides motorcycles more than bikes it wouldn't matter.

Great, great stuff.  Thanks.

Jeff Greenberg - love the video, and Wolfmother! Nice.

I am surprised that some of you regular MB guys who ride/race motorcycles do not swap brakes so that front is on right.  First mod I make (or have dealer do in return for giving LARGE amounts of money for my bike).  Only way to train.  Again...maybe more important to us guys who pretend to be racers.   Emphasis on pretend.
