The bike has been up for sale for awhile.  My mid-range offer at the time was declined.  The transportation offer is still viable if needed.  Previous thread below.

I was looking at this one and Jerry pointed out that the motor could be a 73 since it has the flat clutch cover and not the round one. Engine stays are steel also. I don't know when they started using aluminum. I emailed about it but got no response.

Dale,
Talk to Chicago Jerry about the 74 1/2 roller that I just delivered to him on Friday evening. He was talking to me about how he could get it together for you if you are interested. Mike

While my bike has a 73 engine, it has the updated kickstarter and covers.  The shafts were smaller on those flat sided and prone to failure.

Dale and Dale, as a Penton newbie I don't know enough to know what I don't know.

I have some friends in the Detroit metro area so the 250 is a possibility. Can you guys compare and contrast this with the other 250 that is for sale in my area (albeit 4 hours away) in Winston/ Salem NC? (topic "250 on CL" in this forum)

Need to keep both these bikes in the POG family of owners.

Thanks in advance, Robert Patton

Either of the bikes you could easily spend as much as the purchase price in parts alone to make them just a viable rider.  Originality, completeness, and condition are all considerations I look at in evaluating a project.  Sometimes making a list of what it would need to meet your expectations and then pricing out the items changes your mind.

That's my 1974 on craiglist and I think I gonna take it down. Its a 1974 as engine number and title indicate. Only mod's Is headlight /number plate combo . Runs good and shifts perfectly but I will put new fork seal boots as the gaitors are dry rotted and got to find seat, mine was destroyed in fire. Bike is straight and has never been restored or does it need to be. I ride it ! Good luck William H. Rush (Toolsurfer)
