Was the 74 250 available with a mx tank.if so was it still called a harescrambler

How was tank held on.was it the leather strap or the cable with springs,(hopefully not) just gave away a nice pair of them with no idea where to get them

Any of the 73-76 tanks can be held on with either the leather strap or the cable with springs, but generally the early bikes until around 74 1/2 used the leather strap and the later 74 1/2-76 used the cables. I have seen a lot of 76 Cross Country's with the leather strap, so the cables may have only been used for a while. No one will hold it against you if you don't use the correct one. The tank cables and aluminum guide are hard to find. Mike
