would like some input on replacing my seat. Have seen a few on internet but just not enough detail. Can some of you guys with vast knowledge lend some expertise on what years and models interchange . really could use some good advice on this please. See some 1977 but ??? Thanks Toolsurfer
Some very early red tank 74 had the short low foam and quickly went to the short tall foam on the MX... still found the short low on some enduros....the 1974.5 had a mix of short tall and long tall foam ...the foam on E-Bay is formed off a 1977 foam...the fender molded area is not as deep on this foam for for the Stock seat base but will work with some cutting of the foam and a force fit.
Thanks for the info.I'm trying to replace the original. Thanks again. Toolsurfer
This at one point was my 74 HS. It is a 12/73 build date so an early one. Short/low seat as original. Does that help?

I might have an extra 72 seat but I don't know if they interchange.

Nice bikes Marsattacks, That 250 is similar to mine and that Jackpiner looks similar to the one I had back in 1980, I think it was a 1973 or 1974 and would love to find it. The first thing I noticed between your and mine is mine has provisions for multipile mounting location of rear shocks but very similar at a glance. Mine is June 1974. What about that extra seat ???
Your bike would be the later 1974.5 model and could of had the short tall(they were using up old inventory)and most likely had long tall style if you want to go OEM...
gooddirt : Your right and I think that's what was on it when I look at the pictures. It you have a good seat with hardware, what's the $$. I appreciate the help.
