On Tuesday January 19th. John and Jack Penton will be the in studio special guests of POG member and Two Wheel Power Hour radio show host Larry Ward. The show begins at 6pm. EST.
The impetus for this in studio visit is the fact that on Saturday Jan. 23rd. John Penton Day will be celebrated in Amherst, Ohio. Please allow me to explain. On January 23, 1999 a very special dinner was held where John Penton recieved his Gold Medal as an inductee into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame from then AMA President Ed Youngblood. The then Mayor of Amherst, John Higgins, read a proclamation at the dinner declaring January 23rd. as John Penton Day in the City of Amherst, Ohio.
On every January 23rd. afterward, former devoted Penton employee Elaine Hall has spearheaded a gathering in celebration of John Penton Day. This January 23rd. is no exception to Elaine's yearly efforts. As a side note, this years event is a sell out according to Elaine as all of the available tickets are sold, and the capacity for the meeting room has been reached.
The radio show can be heard live on 570 AM for those in the area, or it can be heard live through your computer and I think through some of the new fangled phones as well, AND, it will be available on Podcast through the 570 WKBN website, the link to the station's website and the Podcast is further down in this thread.
A big tip of the POG hat to Larry for his efforts, and to Elaine Hall for her unwavering love and support of all things John Penton related.
