Title: Mid Ohio
Post by: Nick on January 20, 2016, 02:06:59 PM
I was watching the 1976 125 USGP at Mid Ohio on youtube last night and was trying to figure out where the motocross track was located.  Was it off to the right where the swap meet area is during Vintage Days?  Was it off to the left where the Vintage Days motocross track is located (its been a couple of years since I've been there, but the last time I was there it was off to the left)?  I also saw a motocross tower, that looked like a permanent building - where was that?  Thanks.

That track was on a different property,I think 3 or 4 miles from there.

Yeh, the original track (on Mill Run Rd.) was a spectacular motocross track.  That announcers tower was along the front straightaway, after the ski jump. Had the name Penton on it.

Hey John, was there too!  Was that the one where Smith and Hannah battled?

The following is the exact location of the starting gate.  I was lucky in that I attended every single race at this place.  If you Google Earth the below lat/long, you can actually still make out parts of the track, and the starting line location.

4525 Mill Run Rd
Mansfield, OH 44904
