Title: John Penton Day - January 23rd Amherst Ohio
Post by: Dale Fisher on January 24, 2016, 11:24:34 AM
I'll start this thread with a quote from Paul Danik's post on the recent Two Wheel Power Hour.

"On January 23, 1999 a very special dinner was held where John Penton recieved his Gold Medal as an inductee into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame from then AMA President Ed Youngblood. The then Mayor of Amherst, John Higgins, read a proclamation at the dinner declaring January 23rd. as John Penton Day in the City of Amherst, Ohio. On every January 23rd. afterward, former devoted Penton employee Elaine Hall has spearheaded a gathering in celebration of John Penton Day. This January 23rd. is no exception to Elaine's yearly efforts."

This years event was held at the KTM building and was a sell out with approximately fifty attending and a very full conference room.  Billy Morris and company provided the eatery and the afternoon a collective celebration observing this special day.

Please comment and add your recollections :D
