Has anyone tried to clear over signatures to preserve them.

That's what I did to this signature before polishing the tank.

I don't remember the brand.  I got it at Autozone and it was a satin finish in a spray can.  I had more crap on the tank while I was polishing and it held up pretty well.

What are you trying to protect the signatures from?

I am considering buying a spare tank for my Berkshire because of the autographs on it. For one, any little bit of gas spilled on it may wipe out a signature or two,and I also have a couple that are irreplaceable. Second if I ever decide to sell the bike, I would like to keep the tank

I have'nt done anything with this yet, but I would like to. If it's cleared, I can still get more autographs over it, then clear again. I'm just nervous, because I want to be certain to use the right product.

Skip, I see Mr. Penton signed your tank, 1 day after mine. Mid-Ohio 2004. But he did'nt put a slash through the 7 on yours. Are you sure your's was'nt signed by Al Born instead. [8D] :D ;)
