I need fork seals for my 77 GS6 175. The originals are still mostly functional but are so hard that they seem to be causing a lot of stiction. I got some from Mr. Buehner (2 per side) but for some reason they stack too high so I am unable to use them. Original seals were 47mm OD x 35mm ID x 10mm high.
Any thoughts or recommendations?
UPDATE: After digging down a few pages I found mentions of "Leak Proof Fork Seals". Am I better off with the "Classic" 7201 or the "Pro-Moly" 5201?
give me a call.
There are 2 thicknesses of 35mm fork seals, 7mm & 10mm.
Unless specified when ordering, the 7mm will be sent.
Alan Buehner
The leak proof seal you mentioned have a lot of stiction because they use oil pressure to "clamp" the seal against the tube. I have used the "classic" models before with good results.
