Super nice!
Two questions:
1. Does your front plate have the rubber band stretching from side to side or did you use some sort of bracket - could you take a photo?
2. Does someone make those anniversary stickers on the side plates? I'm in the market for a set.
Thank you.

possible DUH...why can't I see the pics?
Skip,
Thank for posting the photos of your bike project.
It's looking wonderful.
It's good to see where and how all the parts that I ship out to people wind up. It's also a good feeling knowing that I have helped bring some joy and happiness into someone's life.
I noticed that you have a pair of orange snow skis in your garage. With your engineering know how, I know that you could find some way of connecting one of then onto the front wheel. Then you could run that bike in the snow. :D
Alan Buehner
very nice restoration, high quality workmanship.

Thanks Al. I don't know how you do it, but your parts are always here the next day. It's like an early Christmas too.
I'd have to get a bit farther North than Tucson to find any snow to run it in. Take care

I've seen that decal a lot on 77 GS-6 bikes. They probably made them up well in advance, but 77 is the first year for actual GS-6's. Mike

Thanks Steve. Motor is coming in a few days and I'll be getting closer. I stopped powder coating my frames because I couldn't make any adjustments during re-assembly without damaging the finish. Now I like to use spray cans in the driveway.
I like duplicolor bgm 0540 light slate metallic and if you do a search Mike Winter uses Duplicolor Lacquer DAL1679 silver metallic and Spraymax 2K 3680061 Urethane. Mike's usually spot on with his recommendations.

Busy day today, but if I get time it's just cut the chain, fuel lines and fluids in motor and forks, then go riding.

Last Monday I finished up the chain and fuel line. Filled the forks and gear box then kicked it over for the 1st time. After a few kicks and no start I pulled the ground wiring and two kicks later it fired right up. Ran it up and down the drive, but it wouldn't idle when I got back to the garage. The carb sat on the workbench for 4 months and I never took it apart or even looked at it. Well this morning I had time to hook up a new kill button, clean the carb, and check out the head light circuit. Here's what it sounds like.

I'd like to thank a number of POG people that made this all happen
Bob (ristallone) for the gas tank
Mike Winter for the pipe and tons of info.
Skip Miller for decals (I have a second set "KTM" to make a
blue bike)
Al B for more parts that I can think of.
Chicago Jerry for the engine. (My wife took off on it and ran up
the street in traffic, came back with a smile so I did
the same. Runs great.
Rod Gorzny with the beautiful shock rebuild
And especially the POG site to be able to look up all the photos and info search and see how everyone else has done this.
I'm sure there are a few more and thank you too. Can't wait to get in the dirt. Coming soon.......

I've had it out riding 3 times now. Just around the block and through the neighborhood. It has good power and I'd like to get in the dirt this weekend. I think once it's broken in and the rings seat it's going to be a pretty nice ride.
My wife's been out on it a couple of time too.
