Title: 72 Swing arm
Post by: Rich Fredette on March 26, 2016, 08:52:01 AM
The bracket for the chain guide on my 72 was hacked off at 1" and flat stock snot-welding over it. I am mocking one up to bend up and welding in for stock look.  Can anyone supply a high resolution close-up or even a length/height for the bracket so I can mock one up. Is it one piece with slotted holes or two? Thanks.

The chain guide mounts on the swingarm where a chain guard mounting bracket attaches. I dont have time now to do a drawing but will try to give you some dimensions.

Material thickness: .117 "
overall length from swingarm to bottom: 4.750"
length from swingarm to bend: 1.132"
width where chain block mounts to bend: 1.350"
width at swingarm: 1.538"
thickness where block mounts: .291"
thickness at top: .734"
bolt hole width: .235"
upper hole length: .568" (from bend up)
space between upper and middle holes: .573"
space between middle and lower holes: .557"
length of middle and lower holes: 1.066"

This is absolutely fantastic JR. Thank you for taking the time and including the precision machinist measurements, no drawing required. :D
