Title: Looking for a few good AMA members.
Post by: Dale Fisher on May 06, 2016, 06:31:36 AM
The Penton Owners Group is in the process of reapplying to the AMA Charter Club program.  If the paperwork is submitted with the names, AMA numbers, exp. date, and zip code from 18 or more of our members the application fee is waived.  If you could help and would like to be included on the paperwork please drop me a message ([email protected]) with the required information.  We were able to come up with 16 at last nights meeting.

I have never cared for the AMA, and probably never will.

They have always used dirt bike riders like a big cash cow while barely putting up with us. Case in point - their horrible treatment of AHRMA a few years ago.

With Jack Penton a ex-AMA officer I would support this if the Pentons do.

But why is POG wanting or needing a AMA Club Charter?

For what it worth I belong to the AMA; albeit begrudgingly for reasons stated above.

In response to why the POG is renewing its AMA club charter.

When the POG was formed we applied to be an AMA charted club, which was granted by the AMA and required a yearly renewal.

At some point during my tenure as POG president the yearly renewal was inadvertently not fulfilled. At the April POG meeting I brought this to the attention of the POG officers and trustees as we do state in our newsletter that we are an AMA charted club. There was a motion made to renew the AMA club charter, the motion was seconded, discussion asked for, and a vote taken with the motion passing unanimously.

President Dale did his homework as to how to get the charter renewed and we were able to get 16 of the needed 18 AMA members to sign the sheet at the POG meeting, leading to President Dale's post above.

Thank you President Dale for rectifying my oversight, and thank you to the folks who have stepped up to help get the POG AMA club charter renewed.

To date I have way more than enough replies to satisfy the "fee waived" stipulation.  A huge thank you for the quick responses.:D:D

I may touch on the reasoning why the group chooses to do these types of things in the next newsletter [?]
