Bob Gillman had a beautiful all original 77 175 at Mid Ohio for sale way cheaper than what was offered here.  Hope someone in POG picked that one up as it would have been a keeper for sure.

The 77 MC5 175? I would have liked to have that bike. It was a nice and very rare bike, the first of the 6 fin 175's. Mike

The bike in the Craig's list add is not an MC5, it is the 76 cross country model.

I was referring to the MC5 at Mid Ohio. The Cross Country has the old style 7 fin engine, more suitable for Enduro riding. Mike

I tried to buy it, but I was too late.  I think he traded for another bike....

I know you were referring to Bob's bike, I just wanted people to realize the bike on Craigs list was not an MC5, even though the side cover had the MC5 decal.

There is a rough 77 MC5 175 project bike with a plastic tank and the engine turns over on eBay now with a starting price of $390. I would be interested, but it's in California and the cost of shipping would make it over what I would comfortably afford to spend and fix up. Mike

Mike , thanks for the link.

Find one in the southeast (Georgia) and I'll buy it. Missed on to restore in North Carolina this past spring as it sold for $800. Two bikes in progress right now.
